Project supported by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action

Training sessions on how to use the new e-library established by the University of Luxembourg took place from the 8th until the 11th of September 2020 in the framework of the Inter-University Project. Librarians of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of NUOL and of the NUOL Central Library learnt how to use the digital library with the kind assistance of Thammasat University librarians.

Ms. Phimphakwan Thananopparit, Ms. Arocha Laorukwong and Ms. Chaninporn Suchokvirawong from Thammasat University Library (Bangkok) led a virtual Webinar via Zoom from Thailand assisted by Dr. Perrine Simon from France. Librarians were in the ICT room of the FLP helped by Ajarn Sangkhone Niyomkham, Head of IT at the faculty.

The e-library is an essential tool to strengthen access to knowledge and a concrete tool for teachers to prepare their classes and do research. More training will follow soon!

The University of Luxembourg keeps organising training on “How to use the E-library” established with its support. Through our agreement with the organisation EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries, https://www.eifl.net/), hybrid training sessions were provided in Thai language on 2nd and 3rd of September 2020 with the kind assistance of librarians from Thammasat University. 12 lecturers attended a half virtual Webinar led by Ms. Phimphakwan Thananopparit who was connected via Zoom from Thailand and Dr. Perrine from France.

Lecturers were in the ICT room of the FLP helped by Ajarn Sangkhone Niyomkham. The e-library is an essential tool to strengthen access to knowledge and a concrete tool for teachers to prepare their classes and do research. More trainings are coming soon!

11 lecturers attended a half virtual Webinar led by Ms Jevegenija from EIFL who was connected via Zoom, whereas Dr. Perrine, the Liaison Officer of the University of Luxembourg, was helping the participants in the room. The University of Luxembourg’s support to the creation of an e-library for the Faculty of Law and Political Science of/and the National University of Laos is moving forward quickly following the agreement signed with the organisation EIFL in November 2019. The E-library is a digital version of a library accessible via the website of the FLP (http://flp.nuol.edu.la/e-library/) which gives access to online databases containing books (e-books), academic journals and many other resources such as magazines and newspapers.

On the 13th of May, the first online training on “how to use the e-library” was held by Ms. Nanthalat Nonthivathvanit, library service engineer from EBSCO Thailand (EIFL’s partner) delivered to more than 50 lecturers and librarians from the FLP. This is an essential concrete tool to strengthen legal and research skills! This workshop was also the occasion to test participant’s skills to follow online training.

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg continues to encourage Laotian legal research during the lock-down following the Covid-19 pandemic. Pr. Stefan Braum and Dr. Perrine Simon held their first Online Legal Research Workshop on Thursday, with 6 lecturers from Faculty of Law and Political Science National University of Laos , who are supported by the University of Luxembourg for their research. They have all been to Luxembourg for a research stay or selected to go this year. Despite the distance, they all had fruitful and stimulating exchanges about their law papers!
