On 20th and 21st of November 2019, the National round of the ICRC International Humanitarian Law Moot Court competition took place at the Faculty of Law and Politcal Science of NUOL.
Six teams composed of two mooters competed in English acting in turn as the Defence and the Prosecution pleading a fictitious case before the International Criminal Court.
This Moot court organised by the ICRC is a great way to stimulate legal thinking, by acquiring a specific method of reasoning and learning how to develop arguments appropriately . Students also improved their presentation skills, debating skills and English!
The teams have been trained by Dr. Perrine from the University of Luxembourg, Dr. Lawrence Siry and the ICRC Bangkok Office.
Congratulations to all teams and special congrats to the winning team Lounglavanh VONGXAY and Souksavanh VONGTHONGCHIT, which participated to the International Round in March 2020.
